Since Outlook 2003, a new file format is introduced by Microsoft which is also known as Unicode format. It has several advantages than the earlier used ANSI format mostly in compatibility reasons. However at times people need to convert old PST to Unicode PST to due to several reasons such as to transfer data from a computer with Outlook 97-2002 to one with Outlook 2003-2010.
